Shorpy

Ok.

So.
It's not a secret that I'm obsessed with Shorpy, a fantastic blog that posts high resolution scans of historical negatives and glass plates. The nice thing about Shorpy is that they don't just post your typical boring historical photographs, but they do a good job curating the images and really giving you a glimpse into what it was like back then. Most of the pictures depict the Washington D.C. area, which I enjoy because I lived there for many years. Make sure to stop by and check it out, they update daily and the pictures always come with some background or insight as to what you're looking at. Another exciting thing, is that you can order prints!! you can orderΒ reasonably priced prints from the original scans; I have one and I love it. I strongly recommend browsing through the "Sports" section.
Here are some of my favorites!
