Last weekend I went to see the musical Next To Normal on Broadway. I was blown away.
I'm not a big theater person, and rarely does it move me. But I sat through the whole thing in tears. I also laughed a lot and felt my skin prickle with goosebumps. The story is dark and blunt with a hint of comedy. The music is absolutely incredible and it glides nicely from rock to folk and back to straight out musical theater. The current cast is fantastic, better than the original cast I think. Performance was phenomenal and what voices! dear lord!
If you can GO SEE IT!!! I got tickets the-day-of for $40 but you can get them for less.
