News from Seattle

It's been a while since I last posted because I've been settling into my new life in Seattle.
Seattle is a beautiful city and it is full of beautiful people (in every sense of the word). I'm living and working in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, which is very lively and full of young creative people. The weather has been great (goodbye awful NYC heat!!) and just walking to work every day puts a smile on my face -the city is clean, well kept and the people are very polite. Additionally it seems like its a year-round "Adorable House & Garden" competition. I've been running every morning, waking up early and making the most of my time. Capitol Hill also is a meca for great fashion, but in a very different way than NY. Everybody looks so good and stylish but it all looks and feels so effortless and natural... none of that snobbishness or "I tried SO HARD to look good today" that you get in NYC.

Yesterday I dropped off 35 rolls of film and I'm super excited to finally get to work on my own art, something that I struggled with in NY. I will be spending time at The Photo Center NW, helping out with the gallery and front desk here as well as developing my current bodies of work. I will also be teaching a 7-week photography workshop for youth at risk in West Seattle, which will be a new and exciting experience for me.

I really miss NY -my friends, the art scene, the endless possibilities. I'm certain that I will come back, but this is a very needed break and I'm happy to be here.

I have a lot of updates coming up so stay tuned! I will also be posting lots of new work soon!!
