This month has proven to be a good one for photography. I already blogged about Cheim and Read's blockbuster show, and Massimo Vitali at Bonni Benrubi Gallery.
Daniel Cooney Fine Art presents Booneville, a selection of photographs by Tim Briner.
Over at Yancey Richardson, Week-End by Alex Prager opens on January 14th.
Heading north to The Center For Photography at Woodstock, the lovely Justine Reyes will be having a solo show of her Vanitas work.
Versus, curated by Ruben Natal-San Miguel at Hous Projects opened this past Thursday. The opening was a blast and it was packed with awesome people. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first about this "versus" idea, but this show has brought together some of the greatest young photographers working today in one room and it was a joy to see. It was also very nice to see work in person that I've only seen on the web. Mickalene Thomas, Brian Ulrich, Cara Phillips,
Zoe Strauss, Hank Willis Thomas, Matthew Pillsbury, Amy Elkins, Molly Landreth, Eric Ogden, Alex Leme, Kris Graves, Jen Davis, Gina LeVay, Phil Toledano, Ruben Natal-San Miguel, Michael Wolf, Elizabeth Fleming, Nadine Rovner.
Check it out if you can!
