If you are in NYC, make sure to check out Clampart's latest show Kids Behaving Badly. This concept was first introduced by Brian Clamp at Art Miami and this show is the exquisite result of that exploration inspired by Larry Clark and his influence in later generations. Brian says of Clark, "He goes on to influence people like Nan Goldin and Mark Morrisroe, you know the next generation, who then pass the torch on to Ryan McGinley and Jill Greenberg."
Hung salon style, the images float all throughout the gallery ranging in size, format, placement and type. Very raw Larry Clark's share needles with adjacent Brian Finke frat boys and masturbating John Arsenault's. Drag queens, junkies, sex, drugs, lust, needles, alcohol, cigarettes- it is all so lovely spilled on the walls. The arrangement showcases a great variety of work by photographers from many generations united by one very familiar theme. This is by far one of the best shows Clampart has put forth and Brian has done a beautiful job curating the work. So if you're feeling naughty, stop by Clampart and check out the work!
Participants include: Nan Goldin, Karlheinz Weinberg, Jack Pierson, Mark Morrisroe, Jill Greenberg, Brian Finke, John Arsenault, Mark Yankus, Michael Meads, Thatcher Keats, Janine Gordon, Collin Lafleche, and Larry Clark. The show will remain open until April 25th, 2009.
